The Rho Chi Honor Society is pleased to announce its new initiative for the 2010-2011 school year: Balance Beyond the Books. The theme centers on 4 categories (social, community, sports, and academics) that will help to encourage well rounded pharmacy students. Rho Chi plans on having a series of events throughout the year to help students perfect their professional skills while having fun at the same time.
Rho Chi’s first event of the year was its participation in the 2010 ACPHS community Health Fair held on October 5, 2010. The booth Rho Chi hosted focused on stress and stress relief. Over 50 people stopped by the table to undergo various stress tests and learn about a variety of stress relief techniques!
Rho Chi also hosted its first trivia night at Graney’s restaurant on Wednesday November, 13 2010. The event was successful, attracting approximately 30 people who tested their various trivia skills in categories from history to questions in pop culture. The winning team (consisting of Kari Stebleton, Richa Mehta, Kari McCabe, Susan D’Ambrosio, and Micaela Mitchell) received a $50 gift certificate to Graney’s and bragging rights as Rho Chi trivia queens! Congratulations girls!
